METROL switches are used for the application that requires high accuracy such as position detection and dimension discrimination.
Most widely used limit switches, micro switches, proximity sensors, and photoelectric sensors are called "existence detection sensor" to tell you that the objects are there or not, passing through or not.
And they are also used for counting objects.
On the other hand, METROL precision switchesare called "position detection sensor" that can detect not only existence but also exact position and dimension of the objects.
Contact type switches are not affected by materials and shapes of detected objects.
Non-contact sensors
Conventional way
The signal point of non-contact sensors such as proximity sensors and photoelectric sensors vary according to the material of the object, surface condition of the object and the external conditions such as water, oil, dust, magnetic field, light intensity, and mutual interference, etc.
The repeatability can not be specified.
